Arcana started with a frustration I could not shake.

I finished school in 2021 and spent the next four years teaching myself economics, trading, and the forces that move the global economy. Along the way I found a handful of thinkers I came to trust completely: economists, hedge fund managers, commodity specialists, people who understood derivatives better than anyone on television. Their analysis was some of the best I had ever read.

But finding them was the hard part. The thinking I valued most was scattered everywhere. One analyst published on Substack. Another ran a private Discord. A third posted videos on Rumble. The rest lived on X, where genuinely brilliant work sat buried beneath noise, trolls, and people farming engagement. The analysis the world needed was being hidden by an algorithm that rewarded reaction over insight.

Some tried to solve it themselves. They built their own websites. A few built entire media companies around their work, and I respected the ambition behind it. But it only ever solved the problem for one person, and even then only halfway. A website with no audience is a quieter form of being unheard. They had traded a crowded platform for an empty one, and taken on the cost of running technology, payments, and distribution instead of doing the thinking they were brilliant at. And none of it connected. For the reader, the world was no clearer. The best macro minds were still scattered, only now there were more places to track them.

What I wanted was simple, and it did not exist: one place. A private institution where the best macro minds in the world lived together, and where anyone serious could finally see clearly.

Because clarity was what I was missing. Mainstream media gives you one side. I wanted both. I loved watching an economist, a hedge fund manager, and a commodity expert reach different conclusions from the same facts, and then decide for myself. No platform showed me that divergence. Nowhere could you see where conviction was building across the best minds, or where they were quietly pulling apart. A terminal shows you the price. Nothing showed you the thinking behind it. So in 2025, I decided to build the one that would. That was the moment Arcana stopped being an idea.

Loving it as a reader was easy. The harder question was why the world's best thinkers would ever come together in one place. So I looked at how they work today: isolated on Patreon, Substack, and their own websites, forced to market themselves, with no shared audience and no network effect between them. The same fragmentation failing readers was failing the creators too.

I studied how Brian Chesky built Airbnb by designing for an experience most companies never reach for, and I set out to do the same for Arcana: for the people who create macro intelligence and the people who depend on it alike. Not the ordinary baseline everyone settles for. Something well beyond it.

Then I tested it. I reached out to around 300 of the most respected macro names in the world. About 80 wrote back. Twenty sat down with me on a call. I described what Arcana would be, before a single line of it was built, and asked one question: if this existed today, would you join?

That was when I understood the problem was far bigger than mine. These were some of the sharpest minds in finance, and they were frustrated, isolated, and tired. Tired of algorithms burying their work, tired of chasing engagement to be seen, unsure whether to keep building on ground they did not own.

So Arcana is built for both sides of that broken system at once. For readers: only the most experienced voices, every one reviewed personally, so you can see which minds actually matter, and what the best of them are saying when they disagree. Anywhere else, anyone can buy their way to the top or post with no track record at all. Not here. For thinkers: one home, one audience, one ecosystem where their work is valued for its quality, never its clickbait.

I believe Arcana can become the new infrastructure for global macroeconomic thought: a new way the world discusses markets, and a new kind of media built on experience instead of outrage. I am building it because it is the product I always wanted and could never find. When I was deep in the markets, hunting for the hidden gems the algorithms had buried, I needed Arcana to exist.
